ABOUT DAVID CUTTER

David Cutter was born and raised in Parsippany, New Jersey. Throughout his childhood he continuously drew and painted, confident that he would earn his living as an artist. In high school, he excelled at art and gained entrance to the County's advanced art course.

After graduating from The Philadelphia College of Art (now The University of the Arts) in 1982, David pursued his ambition to be a freelance illustrator in New York.

After three years of moderate success in his chosen profession, David left for London, England, to try his luck there. He immediately made an impact in the British illustration market and lived there for a total of nine years between 1985 and 1997.

Over his 20 year career, David has worked with a wide and impressive list of advertising agencies, book publishers, magazines and newspapers. His images have been recognized by The Art Directors Club of New Jersey, The Society of Illustrators Annual, and The European Illustration Annual. David has also taught Artist's Anatomy & Figure Drawing at Flagler College.

In 1993 David was awarded the D & AD Silver Pencil for his work with the British pop group, The Beautiful South.

In 1999, he started The Cutter Gallery; an art gallery devoted to original contemporary illustrators' art from the U.S.A. and Great Britain. He continues to receive art commissions and his paintings are in private collections in the U.S. and Europe.

He currently resides in sunny St. Augustine, Florida with his lovely wife and family.
